Baner has changed a great deal over the past two decades, from an outlying village to one of the most sought-after addresses in west Pune. Its position along the Mumbai–Bangalore highway corridor, and its proximity to the IT employment around Hinjewadi and the established neighbourhoods of Aundh and Balewadi, made it a natural place for new residential development.
